Q: What is a good medicine for Migraines?
That works and is inexpensive? I’m currently taking Zomig (5mg) but it’s only when I have a migraine coming on, it is not a pill I take everyday, because I only get migraines about once a week.

I can no longer afford the Zomig. I switched insurance and now my co-pay is $124 for 6 pills! I was paying $10 before.

I need something that is cheap but works good. Please do not suggest Excedrin, Aspirin or Tyolenol. I can eat a whole bottle of those and they don’t even take the edge off. For now I’m taking 800mg of Motrin, but at once per week it’s really starting to mess my stomach up and I’m already on Prilosec because I had Gerd to begin with
I should mention, I have not actually taken my Zomig in a couple months but I still have 2 left that I’m saving for when it’s really bad. For now I’m eating Motrin.

A: You need to go back to your doctor (or call them) and tell them or insurance has changed and you need to switch to a medication that is covered. All you’ll have to give them is what kind of insurance you have; they know what is covered well and what isn’t. They can call you in a new rx of something you can afford.
