Q: Is Imitrex cheaper than Maxalt?
Right now I get 12 pills of Maxalt for $50, which the insurance pays $200, so it’s a total of $250. If I were to switch to Imitrex, will this be cheaper? Our insurance pays more if we use a generic (I think)
A: I have been ordering with a Mexico-based http://www.pompharmacy.com/buy-maxalt-usa.html for the last 2 years now. It is a reputable company but their prices are really low! It takes them about 10-15 days to deliver my orders to Fresno, CA. If you are buying medication from a foreign country, you want to know that the dispensing source is regulated and licensed by the appropriate governing authority.
Q: DHE for migraine abortive?cost?
I no longer have insurance but it would seem my migraines don’t know that. I love maxalt & imetrex but can’t afford eithier as a migraine abortive. Even generic imetrex is well ove $150 dollars for 10 pills.
I’ve been looking into DHE 45 injections. Is this expensive? Does anyone know the cost without insurance? How effective is it?
I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and I’d love pointers on a cheap abortive med I can ask the doctor about.
A: health-quotes.isgreat.org – here is my health insurance plan. As I remember they can provide such a service.
Q: Headaches and Migraines?
I have headaches every day and migraines about once a month, I have been prescribed maxalt for my migraines, but I usually have to take 2, but i have to wait 2 hours before taking a second pill. Plus the pills are super expensive. What are the names of other migraine pills that are cheaper, or if anyone has some suggestions for me? Thankyou in advance.
A: I feel for you, I have headaches almost everyday, and migraines sometimes 4-5 times a month.
It sounds like you may have a “rebound” headache. Some medications can cause migraines when the effect has worn off.
Try looking at the website Mymigraineconnection.com. It was started by a woman who had migraines and couldn’t get any answers.
I have learned alot about migraines just from that site.
Take care, I hope you find some relief.
Q: Migrane medicines (triptan drugs)?
I’m reffering to the ones that are used to abort a migrane (Maxalt, Axert, Imitrex, Frova, etc)
Question is, these drugs are in the same category and chemically built the same, right?
So how come some are covered by insurance some are not, Some are cheaper than others, if they are basically the same thing and work the same way, targeting the serotonin levels.. .. ???
A: yes they are basically in the same category some are covered because they are approved and probably cheaper for the insurance company.you can get the medicine you want but you must pay cash at the pharmacy.that is it they insurance companies run the show and it’s insane.here is a site about migraines and people showing what does and doesn’t work.the secret of getting rid of the migraine to break the cycle with sleep http://www.everydayhealth.com/blog/zimney-health-and-medical-news-you-can-use/migraine-treatment-the-benefits-of-triptans/ http://www.healingwell.com/library/migraines/info2.asp
