Amerge

Q: Why did the Gothic novel amerge in the late 18th century?
Explain the awakening of the Gothic novel and the fact that it has never been submerged.

A: It just will not go away will it? I mean, in some strange way, Goths and Gothic are at the very heart of our British culture. Take another yet closer look at the Palace of Westminster. Is this not the world’s most magnificent Gothic pile ever? Just think of the ornate artwork alone at stupendous extravagant cost.

In a strange way I guess it all starts with Mary Shelly

Frankenstein – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Frankenstein, or, The Modern Prometheus, is a novel written by the British author
Mary Shelley. Shelley wrote the novel when she was 19 years old. …

Frankenstein I think is where it all starts really. It just progresses from there.

Q: How to get rid of a headache?
I’ve been to the ER, my reguar doctor, and headache specialist, I’ve followed their instructions (stretching, relaxing…) and am taking Atenelol (for about a month now) and have neproxen and amerge for the real bad ones. I also know (mostly) what foods I should avoid, but I still have a headache pretty much every day (mostly minor ones, and I’m just lightly dizzy every day) I haven’t had a completely headache/dizziness free day in over a month. I get plenty of sleep, am not stressed out, or read/use the computer excessively. Are there any home remedies, or simple tricks I can try to relieve them? The headache specialist, and ER doctors have suggested it may be tension headaches or migraines. I also had a normal CAT scan. When I get these headaches they are pretty debilitating (sensitive to smells, tired, irritated, can’t concentrate)

A: chinese medicine defines headaches by the location of pain and the additional symptoms. sounds like you might have liver yang rising or gallbladder/liver damp heat or even blood deficiency. go and get a treatment from a decent acupuncturist in your area. i bet you’ll get some pretty swift results.

Q: Latteral Tree Roots Coming Through Lawn. What Can I do???
I have quite a large tree in my garden, unfortunatly its roots are appearing above ground level protruding latteraly through my lawn, in one place its even raising a paving slab.
Im concerned as the mower blades catches them, and its starting to look unsightly.
Does anyone have any advise ?
Can they be removed, or would that weaken the root system and endanger the stability of the tree?
Should I concider raising the lawned area to cover the roots, or would they re-amerge again in time?
Any budding horticulturists out there, that can advise me??
Thanks

A: First off you are correct, cutting the roots will negatively impact the stability and health of the tree. Unless they are thin roots 1/4 inch in diameter or less. You will better off topdressing (at least 6 inches and then re seed) over the roots and around the tree (even if it means repositioning the cement slab. If the cement slab is of a permanent nature you may need to call in an expert who can better advise you if it’s safe to cut the root. If you do cut the root remove it otherwise when it breaks down you will get unsightly mushrooms growing in your lawn from the decoposing wood.

There is however another option, why not remove the grass from around the tree and build a garden (depending on where the tree is), you can also instead of a garden lay a thick layer of cedar mulch approx 6 inches and more under the tree and make it into a shady sitting area. You will spend less time mowing and more time enjoying your favourite beverage in the shade.

Q: Can Seasonal Allergies Cause Migraines?
For the last 2 months or so I have been getting a migraine almost every day! It’s not the worst kind, but still gives me the aura and painful head to go with it afterwards. The Dr. gave me Amerge but it’s $72 Canadian just for 4 pills! I’m down to one left. I know stress can cause Migraines too and I have some of that but I’m really wondering if it’s the seasonal allergy thing too! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Q: ???? Is Where I Live As Bad As People Say ?
I was born and raised in St.louis, M.O. and some of the time people will ask questions when they come on trips. Such as ” How safe is a Concert in St.Louis?”, “How bad is the City?”, ” Are People nice in the City of St.Louis?”. I’ve seen good people here and anytime bad people amerge is at night. Some say our city is so terrible it’s been voted as one of the top 20 worst cities in the U.S. to live…………….Is it really that bad?

A: St Louis, Like it’s neighbor Chicago, is very segregated. The bad neighborhoods are REALLY bad, and the good ones are fine. It’s a young hip city, but cross the wrong street and it’s urban hell.

Q: Help with Migraines?
I have had migraines I since I started my cycle & got put on BC for irrgular cycles when I was 12 years old. I would have them everyday & they would last for weeks on end. I would have maybe 2 or 3 days out of a month that I didn’t have a migraine. I am 27 now, up until I was 19/20 I had just OTC drugs for them then I got put on Verapamil, that seemed to help for a while then stopped. I’ve tried AMERGE & Imitrex tablets. Then I lost ins. so I just went back to OTC drugs. I’ve just recently been tried on Zonegran, didn’t work. And now Im on Topamax, I can only do the 200 mg because of the side effects. I have Imitrex injections for when I get one. I always get one the week before my cylce & the week of which is probably hormonal. Im doing a chiro right now & that doesn’t seem to be helping. I’ve had a MRI & came back fine. Im having breakthrough headaches more & more…and was wondering if anyone knows of anything that I could do for them since the meds are wearing off???
I’ve also tried feverfew & B6 together that worked for a while too & tried the home remedies of smelling a green apple candle until it went away my aunt got out of mag…that was a joke..hahaha…done the pain pills but I don’t wanna be a zombie I want to be able to function…lol
Yes I know they were rebound headaches before from the OTC drugs I was taking, but now Im not taking any & gettin breakthrough ones….and there is no way I can get off BC pills….the whole reason Im on them is for the irregular periods…im not going to have a constant cycle…we’ve already tried coming off the pill.

A: Amber,
So sorry – I’m with you girl. I’ve tried everything, Just about. All the things you mentioned. I just got put on Zonegran. I did try GelStat. It’s a herbal remedy I found by reading the book, LIVING WELL WITH MIGRAINE DISEASE AND HEADACHES, by Teri Robert. She said it helped her 50-75%of the time. So I bought some, and waiting for my next shipment. It has Feverfew (which goes back to the 1800’s-used as aspirin) and the other herb in it, is Ginger. ( a chinese medicine for nausea) .Try it, it may help. It helped mine some. I took it with a pain pill. Hang in there. That’s all we can do, until these people come up with a “real” cure!

Q: Menstrual Migranes?
I get regular migranes but i also get menstrual migraines, I am going back to chapel hill, to see my neuologlist on the 8th but i get my period tomorrow and i already have a migriane, i am taking frova (triptan) b2 and magensium& potassium, also amerge which is another triptan, i am in need of some suggets until i get there on the 8th. I went to the ER last month it was so bad.
Thank you for all your suggetes

A: The inclusion of the menstual cycle with migraine only indicates you are walking a very thin line with your problem. The edema associated with menstruation takes you over that line and brings about the condition of Migraine Syndrome. You have found yourself in a chronic, sub-acute state.. Having a low grade inflammatory process involving more than one of the cranial nerves. Any increase in body tension or bloat of menses would trigger this chronic condition to go into a full blown acute stage.

Perhaps it is time to have this checked out..You can do some of the evaluation just by turning your head and seeing which side is restricted.. find the notch in the eye brow and see if it is tender to sore… there is also another hole on the inner side of the cheek bone..these are the places where the nerve exits the skull..may also check the base of the skull and will find tender to sore area on one side. You may even have evidence of tender areas on the scalp.

Should you find all these points active, you may want to consider visiting a doctor of Chiropractic for relief. Treat the problem rather than the symptoms.

Q: Do you believe that Gordon Brown can undo and remedy, Blair’s sellout?.?
Is he a wise man in waiting? or a clone of the former megelomaniac? Awaiting to re-amerge with more lies and sellouts of Englands heratige?.

A: No. They’re cut from the same cloth. Brown’s been running Britain for long enough already. And his tax and spend socialism is hurting my credit card and costing me too much in petrol.

Damn Labour!

Q: only christians answer this?
a pastor told me to wait and god will send me someone. and i trust him. he said i will know when he is the right one. well he said i have a ministry about to amerge in me. what should i do to find out what that ministry is and how to presue it?

A: If God cannot speak to you, and you cannot hear Him for yourself – then you are lost.
God says, “my sheep hear my voice and the voice of a stranger will they not hear”
Leave that church and pastor – he is controlling you and the people God’s has entrusted to him. God will deal with this man sooner than you can wink, I assure you that !

Q: Do artificial sweeteners cause migraines?
I’ve been suffering with migraines (with aura) for 20 years. As they have gradualy increased in frequency(4-5/month) and intensity I have moved from Imatrex, to amerge, to beta blockers etc. Nothing has stopped them. For the last several months I have tried eliminating artificial sweeteners and have been migraine free. I tried reintroducing diet soda, but had an attack within one week. Most conventional wisdom is that they cannot cause migraines, but my experience seems to contradict this. Does anyone else have this problem with splenda and nutrasweet? The attacks are not coincident, it seems to take awhile after consuming, sometimes days.

A: Sugar is supposed to cause migraines. See item 71 (of items 1-146) in http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm which covers 146 reasons why sugar is ruining your health.

Artificial sweeteners are supposed to be much worse for you than sugar so they would probably give you worse migraines than too much sugar.

Q: help i have terrible migraines????

A: Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief.
If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.

There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don’t treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves’ juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.
